                                  " THE N.J. DEVIL"
                                     
 

 WE start off here by giving you a little background on the New Jersey Devil. The reports go back as far as 400 years. The witness claim it was a Bat looking creature that had a head like that of a horse. Some say that it had a long tail , some do not. In the past the Native Americans called this area in New Jersey — Popuessing— which means place of the dragon.

As the very first legend goes—a woman called Mrs. Shrouds of Leeds Point New Jersey. She was said to be pregnant with her 13th child. She was so upset that she openly proclaimed — " I wished this child will be a Devil !". Rumors have it that she got her wish—it is said that her child was born with a head like a horse, wings, had a tail and horns..! The father was also said to be that of Satan himself and Mrs. Shrouds was a witch.

Ever since, there has been reports and stories of sightings of this Winged–horse head creature dubbed the NJ DEVIL..! So for over 400 years , this creature has lived in and around the dark woods of NJ...haunting people.  Is it the very same creature that appeared over 400 years ago or is it a offspring of the first...?  We shall never know until one day man can find a way to capture or kill it...! As with all Myths we have to take what we get and what we know...and the rest will have to sweep through our dreams...!

Below is a picture of a dead cow carcass that somehow ended up high on the NJ power lines...was it the flying creature called the NJ DEVIL that placed it there...?  You tell me how it got there:
